In 2014, Mr. Wisniewski was awarded the Outstanding Teacher of American History Award by the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The DAR is an organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism.
During his Senior year in high school, Beirut was bombed and this prompted Mr. Wisniewski to join the United States Marines. Because of the Marines, Mr. Wisniewski has travelled extensively, providing him with a rich understanding of the world which he shares with his students. The French side of Mr. Wisniewski’s family came to America in 1790 to escape the French Revolution. Both of his parents were teachers, so it was natural for him to pursue a teaching career after serving in the Marines. He thoroughly enjoys teaching social studies and when asked to describe his favorite thing about teaching, he answered, “The look in students’ eyes when they finally understand.” HOBBIES OR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO WHEN NOT WORKING Hiking, camping, biking, and reading DOG OR CAT PERSON?
