The Student Ambassador Club is made up of 19 students, a diverse group of sophomores, juniors and seniors. Our panels of 3-4 students each answer questions from prospective students and parents who attend tours of Arcadia. Two of the most asked questions are:
What are your classes like? Are they harder than middle school? ~short answer: Arcadia offers Honors, AP and dual enrollment classes for many different subjects as well as 'regular ed' options. Arcadia's teachers are highly trained and care a lot about students' learning. Typically, Freshmen do not take AP or dual enrollment classes, but it is possible with an advisor's and teacher's recommendation. Every student is assigned to an Arcadia Guidance Counselor when they enter Arcadia, and keep the same counselor throughout four years of high school. Counselors help navigate required classes as well as electives. How can students get involved on campus? ~short answer: There are many ways to get involved. There are over 50 clubs on campus (for example: Calculus Club, Key Club, Art Honors Society, Athletic Trainers, Baking Club). Students can organize a club for just about any interest area. "Club Rush" is during lunch period each fall where officers host a table, describe what the club is about, and encourage other students to join. Arcadia also has all of the typical athletic teams, some of which are no-cut sports. Sports teams are a great way to get to know kids from multiple grade levels. In addition, Arcadia students have a lot of spirit and fill Chaos Corner, the student section at football games. All students are invited!
