Mark Your Calendars for the 2015 Sunday @ Shemer Family Arts Festival, Sunday, November 1, 2015! - The Sunday @ Shemer Family Arts Festival will be held Sunday, November 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Forty artists will be selling their works of art at this year’s event, representing the visual arts including the medias of ceramic, jewelry-making, sculpture, painting, printmaking, paper arts, and other diverse disciplines. Artists from various art & cultural organizations will be in the orchard area of the art center’s grounds, demonstrating glass blowing, blacksmithing, plein air painting, printmaking, etc. A stage will showcase various cultural performances including the Kawambi-Omawale West African Dance Troupe, Ken Koshio, Japanese Taiko Drumming, Senachie, Traditional Irish Music, the Arcadia High School Orchestra and City Jazz from downtown Phoenix. There will be food and beverage vendors, and each participating artist will also donate a work of art to the silent auction, which will benefit the educational programming at the Center. Last but not least, there will be a children's interactive art activity called “Junkyard Dada” where participants will be involved in completing a large-scale installation in the orchard that will include a wide variety of found and recycled objects.
