What is the definition of an outbreak?
2 or more students/staff who have tested positive for COVID-19 within a 14-day period; and

• Could have had some close contact such as in a classroom or on a school sports team;
• Do not live in the same household; and
• Were not identified as close contacts of each other in another setting during a Public Health case investigation (e.g. friends who play together in each other's homes).

What is the definition of a "Close Contact"?
An individual that has been within 6 feet for longer than 10 minutes to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19. Close contacts should stay at home in quarantine for 14 days after the last contact with the person with COVID-19. If the "close contact" does not experience COVID-19 symptoms during the quarantine period they can return to school.

When to contact the school about Covid related sickness?

• Positive Test - if student has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home and contact the school nurse at dguestnelson@susd.org.
• Close Contact Out of School - If your student comes into contact with someone in your home or in their circle please notify us.  We are working with the Maricopa County of Public Health but it is helpful to keep our students safe as well for us to get ahead of this.

How to Quarantine in a Household
If you live in the same home or were in close contact (within 6 feet for longer than 10 minutes) with someone with COVID-19, you should stay at home in quarantine.
