![]() This is Adrian Chang’s first full year at Arcadia, however, he is not new to the campus. His first experience at Arcadia was through a random placement with Mrs. Dukelow for an internship. He describes the internship as one of the luckiest things to ever happen to him, learning so much from her that he knew he just had to come back to student teach at Arcadia as well… which he did! Later, after graduating from ASU in December 2016, Mr. Chang jumped on an opportunity to fill in for a math teacher who was on a leave of absence for the spring 2017 quarter. Mr. Chang describes himself as lucky, however, Arcadia students and staff are the lucky ones!... fortunate to be the recipients of his excellent teaching skills, positive attitude, enthusiasm and devotion to all Arcadia students! Mr. Chang’s educational background includes:
In addition to teaching Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, Mr. Chang serves as the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach, is the teacher-sponsor for the Gosh Yarn Knit Club (students who teach peers how to knit bracelets which are taken to children’s hospitals), and is a volunteer chaperone at Calculus Camp in the spring (every spring, teachers from Arcadia, Coronado, Desert Mountain, and Saguaro High Schools spend a weekend in Prescott helping 100’s of AP Calc students review a year’s-worth of calculus curriculum for the upcoming AP exam). Aside from teaching, volleyball is another passion of Mr. Chang’s. So when Varsity Coach Jackie Bunker asked if he would like to be a part of her coaching staff this year, he immediately accepted! Mr. Chang grew up in Scottsdale, and went to Desert Canyon Middle School. Upon finishing 8th grade, his family had the opportunity to move to South Korea and live closer to relatives for a few years. He attended an American high school in Seoul, Korea. FAVORITE THING ABOUT WORKING AT ARCADIA: Getting to interact with the amazing students at Arcadia every day! HOBBIES OR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO WHEN NOT WORKING Play and coach volleyball, read, spend time with my family DOG OR CAT? Definitely dogs! A RANDOM FACT ABOUT MR CHANG I've been to five of the seven continents. Submitted by Amanda McCauley Spring 2018
