All volunteers must submit a volunteer application to the district prior to spending time on campus. This application is available for download HERE, as well as in the front office. If you plan on volunteering at Arcadia, please submit this application to the Arcadia HS office for principal's approval. Your name will be put on a list of cleared volunteers, allowing you access to campus when you volunteer.
Wanted: Parents to help supervise students during lunch hour!
Parents are needed to supervise students and to assist in food service. Volunteers will need a food handler's license, and this will be available to you during registration, on August 5th, from 9:00 to 10:30. Click HERE to download Food Handler's Card Study Guide. AVID TUTORS
Arcadia High School will be seeking paid tutors for the AVID college preparatory program. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination and is taught as an elective. It is geared at students who have high potential to be successful in honors and Advanced Placement courses. However, these students typically need additional classroom support to ensure their success. Prospective tutors should be college graduates or current college students. Students at ASU, Grand Canyon, or SCC are encouraged to apply. Tutors will lead students in tutorials in the AVID elective classrooms twice a week, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays, and assist teachers as needed. Specific content area is not necessary. The positions pay $13.50 per hour and will begin at approximately 11:15 AM and end at 2:50 PM. NURSE'S OFFICE:
To volunteer in the AHS Nurse's Office, please contact Brenda Campbell at bcampbell@susd.org. No medical skills are necessary but there is a lot of paperwork and filing that needs to be done on a regular basis.
